I4 - Increasing Instruction in Intergenerational Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health

The UNM College of Education & Human Sciences is committed in developing a model of certification to build workforce capacity in infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) programming and support across the state of New Mexico. The I4 Project is focused on responding to the existing gaps within the model of professional training in New Mexico.
Our goal is to contribute to workforce development in IECMH across both education and human services using four academic characteristics:
- Multidisciplinary content
- Brain development
- Prevention
- Intergenerational approaches to change
The I4 Project is committed to building a responsive model to change the current experiences (inputs) of young children and their families by responding to community needs through supportive opportunities that result in systems prepared to support mental health wellbeing (outputs).
This project is currently funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation
